The Department of Agriculture (USDA) has announced that it will allow schools to continue serving free meals to all kids through the end of 2020, or so long "as funding allows."We will be able to continue offering free breakfast and lunch to all children, infants to 18 years old, regardless of family income. Children do not need to be enrolled at MMUUSD to receive free meals. We are offering breakfast and lunch 7 days a week.

For families that would like meals when your children are not physically in school whether you are participating in virtual, hybrid, or home schooling, you must fill out our form. The form can be found at

Pick will be on Wednesday from 11am until 1pm at MMUHS. If you cannot pick up meals, please contact our Food Service Director, Dave Horner so we can offer other options. [email protected], 802-434-1010.

Farm to MMU

As we strive for local food in our cafeteria, we welcome your donations from your summer gardens for our food service program. Please feel free to drop your extras/donations to our kitchen. Thank you in advance for your support.

New School Cuisine

MMUUSD chefs and managers participated in writing State wide school food service cookbook: New School Cuisine: Nutritional and Seasonal Recipes for School Cooks by School Cooks.

Over last year, 3 of our chef/managers came together with 12 other school chefs around Vermont to write, test and retest new school recipes that meet the new USDA dietary guidelines. This book will be sent to every school in Vermont and to every Child Nutrition Program in every state. Last night at NECI was kick off for the new book.
