UPDATE - February 2025 trip to the High Atlas Mountains of Morocco and the bustling city of Marrakesh!!! Informational meeting September 17th at 7:00pm via Zoom. Please contact us at [email protected] to obtain a meeting link.
We are a group of globally minded students interested in volunteerism through service work. The Global Service Club is a group of MMU travelers who go to a different country each year for a week during February break to do community service work. Run by a former MMU parent along with our three club leaders, the MMU Global Service Club has made traveling possible for anyone in the school. We have numerous fundraising opportunities, making it more affordable for those going on the trip. Our club has traveled to many different countries; Dominican Republic, India, Egypt, Fiji, and Thailand were the most recent trips, each one being an extremely authentic way to see other parts of the world, seeing as we were living amongst the locals in more underdeveloped communities. We will be traveling through Rustic Pathways this year when we head to Morocco, after having such an incredible trip with them last year to Thailand. In our club we make it our goal to help out with the communities we stay with as much as we can and leave a long lasting impact on the community.
In 2024, Life on the Andaman Sea found students traveling to Thailand to set and collect crab traps; add structures to the coral reef system to aid in the protection of fish species and the elusive dugong; and assist in a reforestation project of planting seagrass and mangrove trees. The local village of Ban Mot Tanoi was ever so welcoming and a beautiful and unforgettable time was had by all.
If you have any questions, please contact a member of the leadership team.
