February 2027 trip: MMUGSC will be traveling to Ecuador! We have partnered again with Rustic Pathways to create another amazing trip. Students will travel to a cloud forest community near Cotacahi Cayapas National Park and take part in home-stays. Students will work on the continuing project of building a community Ecolodge, visiting and working in the local school and working on one of local organic farms. After our community service we will relax in the local hot springs and travel to Cuicocha Lake for a boat trip and visit the indigenous market.
We will be having a Student/Parent informational meeting on May 14th at 6pm in MMU's room
505 with Rustic Pathways to go over the trip and fundraising. Please contact the advisors at [email protected] for more information.
We are a group of globally minded students interested in volunteerism through service work. The Global Service Club is a group of MMU travelers who go to a different country each year for a week during February break to do community service work. Run by two MMU parents and current Underhill Elementary teacher’s aid along with our student leadership team, the MMU Global Service Club has made traveling possible for anyone in the school. We have a variety of fundraising opportunities, making it more affordable for those going on the trip. Our club has
traveled to many different countries; Fiji, Dominican Republic, India, Egypt, Thailand, and Morocco, each one being an extremely authentic way to see other parts of the world, seeing as we were living amongst the locals in more
underdeveloped communities. We will be traveling through Rustic Pathways this year. In our club we make it our goal to help with the communities we stay in as much as we can and leave a long lasting impact on the community.
