Today is the last day of Ally Week. Thanks to all of the students, faculty and staff who signed the pledge and made a commitment to be an ally to the MMU LGBTQ+ community! Your continued involvement and support matters. If you didn't have a chance to get to the table this week, stop by Student Services today to sign the pledge and pick up an ally pin. The Ally Pledge:
I believe all people in the MMU community deserve to be safe and supported at school.
I believe no one should face discrimination based on sexual orientation, gender identity or gender expression.
Because of these beliefs, I pledge to:
• Interrupt and never use hurtful language or slurs;
• Intervene or get support in situations where students are being targeted;
• Apologize if I make a mistake;
• Never assume, debate, or minimize any person’s identity, and support safe and guaranteed bathroom access that doesn’t conflict with that identity;
• Recognize the unique experiences of BIPOC queer youth; &
• Encourage others to be allies.
